视频在哪里
CueTube 从几个地方发现视频，视频始终留在原平台上。大多数来自 Hacker News 的 HackerTube 数据（YouTube 视频）；另一些来自链接了 Vimeo 和哔哩哔哩视频的 Hacker News 帖子、kottke.org 在 Bluesky 上发的帖子、Blender 官网，以及一小批从作者本人页面挑选的 AI 创作短片。每个视频页都列出发现途径并附上原始链接；分享或帖子不会被换算成分数，不同网站的数字也绝不相加。标题、作者、时长和缩略图来自各平台的公开接口，视频只在你按下播放后才在平台自己的播放器里加载。平台显示视频已删除、私密或不可嵌入时，CueTube 会如实显示并链接到原页面。不下载、不转存任何视频。
首页先给出一批 20 部，混合不同平台、来源和主题，并包含少量作者声明为 AI 创作的视频（数量跟随“卡包”页的 AI 设置，也可以不要）。同一天里这批内容保持不变；“换一批”会给出不重复的另一批。搜索、分类和主题页从不打乱顺序。
创作者头像都是创作者本人的：YouTube 频道主页上的频道头像、Vimeo 个人头像、哔哩哔哩 UP 主头像。读不到时只显示首字；绝不用视频缩略图、Hacker News 用户或分享视频的账号来充当创作者头像。
排序规则
CueTube 统计一个视频在多少个不同月份被人推荐，热情推荐额外加分。它从不使用 YouTube 播放量，也不会把 Hacker News 的数字当作播放量展示。列表是一份快照；较新的 Hacker News 评论由单独的、注明日期的任务补充，审核前不标注、不计数。视频能否播放来自对各平台注明日期的核查。
卡包、卡牌与勋章
卡包把 CueTube 里的真实视频变成可收藏的卡牌。稀有度（C、R、SR、SSR）固定在每个视频上，与视频好坏无关：一般由视频 ID 的哈希决定；三个手选卡包（发现混合包、YouTube 之外、AI 创作）的稀有度曾一次性分配，保证各有 SSR，之后保持不变。概率、保底和 AI 创作比例都写在“卡包”页。勋章只来自你在这里真正做过的事——开包、翻卡、收藏、按下播放、表示学到了东西。CueTube 看不到你看了多少，所以从不声称你看完了或学会了什么。音效和音乐在你的浏览器里生成，只有你打开后才会播放，视频播放时自动暂停。开包时的短片由 Vidu（AI）根据 CueTube 自己的卡包图生成，卡包图本身由 Lovart（AI）根据 CueTube 的绘图制作；短片没有声音，开启“减少动态效果”、深色模式或省流量时改播绘制的动画。
隐私
Hacker News 评论归作者所有；视频标题和频道名归创作者所有。缩略图和创作者头像从 YouTube、Vimeo 和哔哩哔哩的图片服务器加载。视频通过各平台自己的播放器（YouTube 使用隐私增强模式）播放，只在你按下播放时加载。你的稍后观看、历史记录、点赞、游戏进度和语言选择只保存在此浏览器。

Every video here was linked in Hacker News comments by at least three people in three different months, and at least one comment recommended it. The list, the comment labels and the short summaries come from HackerTube's public export of 2026-10-31, built from the open-index/hacker-news archive and released under ODC-By 1.0. Labels and summaries were written by an AI model and can be wrong; every comment links to its thread on Hacker News so you can check.
Video titles, creator and channel names, Hacker News comments, Bluesky posts and article titles are shown as their authors wrote them, never machine-translated; CueTube translates only its own words.

Where the videos live
CueTube finds videos in a few places and leaves them on their own platforms. Most come from YouTube through the HackerTube data from Hacker News; more come from Hacker News stories that linked Vimeo and Bilibili videos, from kottke.org's own posts on Bluesky, from Blender's official site, and from a short list of AI-made films picked from their authors' own pages. Each video page lists where it was found, with a link to each source; a share or a post never becomes points, and numbers from different sites are never added up. Title, author, duration and thumbnail come from each platform's public API, and videos play in the platform's own player only after you press play. When a platform reports a video removed, private or not embeddable, CueTube shows that and links to the original instead. Nothing is downloaded or re-hosted.
Home opens with a batch of 20 that mixes platforms, sources and topics, with a few videos their authors disclose as AI-made (as many as the AI setting on Packs asks for, or none). The same batch stays for the day; “New batch” shows another without repeating it. Search, chips and topics are never reshuffled.
Creator pictures are the creators' own: a YouTube channel's image from its channel page, a Vimeo profile picture, a Bilibili uploader's avatar. Where none could be read, CueTube shows an initial; it never uses a thumbnail, a Hacker News user or the account that shared a video as a creator's face.
How the order works
CueTube counts the separate months in which someone recommended a video, with an enthusiastic recommendation counting extra. It never uses YouTube views, and Hacker News numbers are never shown as views. The list is a snapshot; newer Hacker News comments are added by a separate, dated run and are not labelled or counted until reviewed. Whether a video still plays comes from a dated check with each platform.
Packs, cards and badges
Packs deal real CueTube videos as collectible cards. Rarity (C, R, SR, SSR) is fixed to each video and says nothing about its quality: by a hash of its id, except in the three hand-made packs (Discover mix, Beyond YouTube, AI-made), where it is spread once so each holds an SSR, and then kept; the odds, guarantees and AI-made share are listed on the Packs page. Badges come only from things you did here — opening packs, revealing cards, keeping cards, pressing Play, and saying you learned something. CueTube cannot see how much of a video you watched, so it never claims you finished or learned anything. Sounds and music are made in your browser, play only after you turn them on, and pause when a video plays. The short pack-opening film was generated with Vidu (AI) from CueTube’s own pack picture, which was itself made with Lovart (AI) from CueTube’s drawings; it has no sound, and with reduced motion, a dark screen or data saving the drawn animation plays instead.
Privacy
Hacker News comments remain the work of their authors; video titles and channel names belong to their creators. Thumbnails and creator pictures load from YouTube's, Vimeo's and Bilibili's image servers. Videos play through each platform's player (YouTube's privacy-enhanced one), which loads only when you press play. Your watch later list, history, likes, game progress and language stay in this browser.
